Brand and Website for a Top-Rated Product Management Consultant

SNAPSHOT

Wil Van Auken is a serial entrepreneur turned product management consultant. After exiting his last company, he spent years building a strong reputation on Upwork, and became one of the top-rated project managers on the platform. He started developing a consulting model that he and a business partner had been talking about formalizing for well over a year. When it was finally time to make it official, the business needed a brand and a website that could hold its own with the caliber of clients he was already working with.

SITUATION

Wil’s business existed before the brand did. He knew what he was building; he’d been doing the work for years. But without a real web presence, every inbound conversation started with “just look me up on Upwork,” and that wasn’t a sustainable foundation for the business he was trying to grow. He’d been meaning to build the site, but life (and client work) kept getting in the way.

He’d also gone down the AI website builder road, thinking it might get him there faster. It didn’t. The tools were easy enough to start, but getting to something polished, that would actually hold up to the scrutiny of a C-suite client, turned out to be a different problem entirely. He knew he needed to hand it to someone who could get it done, and get it done right.

SOLUTION

We came in at the very beginning, before there was a logo or any type of visual direction. Just a name and a domain. We worked through the identity system first, building a brand from scratch that could carry the weight of Wil’s reputation and the credibility his clients would be looking for. The website followed.

Wil was admittedly skeptical of WordPress going in. He’s a process guy, not a developer, and his concern was whether he’d actually be able to manage the site once we handed it off. We built it so he could.

Within weeks of launch, he had generated nine new case study pages on his own within a couple of hours. That’s not an accident; it’s how we build.

The whole project was finalized in less than 30 business days. Something they’d been trying to get off the ground for over a year launched in a month. Wil started sending inbound leads to the site immediately, the feedback from prospective clients has been positive, and qualified prospects have already started coming in.

That’s how I manage my business, and that’s why I hired Premier Designs. I knew you guys were way past my expertise, and would do an incredible job. Which you definitely did.”
